'I publicly threatened suicide. I'm sorry. I shouldn't make that joke': Pete Davidson addresses his mental health

Making jokes about his mental health, comedian Pete Davidson made his first appearance in a Saturday Night Live sketch since last month’s alarming social media post indicating he was contemplating suicide.
In the Weekend Update segment with special guest star John Mulaney, Davidson said: ‘As you know, I had a really crazy month and I want to talk about something that matters a lot.’
His co-anchor Colin Jost asks: ‘Mental health?’
Davidson replies: ‘The new Clint Eastwood movie, The Mule.’
Mulaney says: 'I have been spending time with Pete to try to show him you can have a comedy that is not insane. A sober domestic life.'
To which Davidson replies: 'After observing John's life, I publicly threatened suicide.
'I'm sorry. I shouldn't make that joke. It is funny though.'
Mulaney and Davidson proceed to make numerous jokes about the movie’s premise, in which Eastwood plays a 90-year-old in charge of transporting narcotics.
Davidson appeared as a Clemson football player on the show’s cold open, which featured Alec Baldwin as President Donald Trump and Kenan Thompson as Steve Harvey.
The last time Davidson appeared on the show was a brief cameo introducing Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson on December 15.
Hours before that episode, which starred guest-host Matt Damon, aired, Davidson wrote on social media: ‘I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore.
