Console is scheduled for release later this year.
Sony officially unveiled Monday night the new logo for the PlayStation 5, the company's new generation console.
Presented at the company's CES 2020 conference, the logo features a white font and is quite similar to the PlayStation 4 logo, but replaces the blue background with a black background. See below:
Sony's PlayStation boss Jim Ryan also took advantage of the presentation to reveal fresh figures on sales of the PlayStation 4, which officially surpassed 106 million units sold.
He also listed some of the technologies that are envisioned for the PlayStation 5, including 3D audio, haptic controller triggers, ultra-high-speed SSD, hardware-based ray-tracing, and Blu-Ray Ultra HD. News about the next generation console, however, was not presented.
"There's a lot more to share about PlayStation 5 in the coming months, and we look forward to revealing more details, including content that will showcase the platform and the future of the games," said Ryan. “Community is the foundation of how we develop our business and that's why our brand is so loved. It is in this promise that the PlayStation brand was created 25 years ago and we will continue our mission to bring this to gamers around the world. ”
The PlayStation 5 is scheduled for release later this year, but no date is confirmed.
