OBAMA FINALLY JOINS TWITTER AS @POTUS AFTER SIX YEARS IN OFFICE

President Obama is committed to making his administration the most open and participatory in history as such being on twitter will give Americans a new avenue to engage on the issues that matter most to them.
White House said in a blog post that the new twitter account, "will serve as a new way for President Obama to engage directly with American people with tweets coming exclusively from him. An @BarrackObama account on Twitter run by the staff of his Organization for Action Group has about 60 milion followers. Obama has occasionally tweeted from the account personally signing his tweets with 'bo'.
Barrack Obama's twitter account @POTUS currently has 1.6 million followers while he is following 65 people including Vice President Joe Biden and former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W.Bush.
